A Great Day Out At Windsor Flower Show
June 11th saw Allett showcase a range of Allett cylinder mowers at the Royal Windsor Flower Show for the first time with The Countess of Wessex opening the show marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. 2022 marks the charity’s 130th year and the 115th Royal Windsor Flower Show, making it one of the oldest flower shows in the world. Sophie was joined by the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society (RWRHS) honorary president Alan Titchmarsh at the York Club in Windsor Great Park on Saturday. Over 3000 visitors attended the show and the Allett stand saw a great football of high-end customers wanting to know how to create the dream Wimbledon style lawn.
Mowers on the Allett stand included the popular Liberty range models as well as the latest Allett Stirling powered by a 56v Ego battery. Visitors to the stand were able to 'try before you buy' with a Stirling 43 demonstration model available to use for those that were interested in getting a feel for the product.
A dedicated platinum Jubilee garden was on show including the fabulous work by Windsor Castle Head Gardener Phil Carter and there were several competitions involving flower arranging, food and photography.
The Special Edition Stirling Jubilee mower was present on the stand which was a great talking point for those visiting the stand. The mower is a special one-off Jubilee Edition Allett Stirling 51 (20”) battery cylinder mower commemorating the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. This special mower was designed by Shaun Etherington (Design Engineer at Allett) and was auctioned off online raising £4400 for the Duke of Edinburgh's Living Legacy Fund. The money raised will give over a million more young people the life-changing opportunity to achieve a DofE Award, building their self-belief, confidence and skills to be ready to overcome anything life throws their way. This is something Allett is very passionate about as a proud British company making cylinder mowers since 1965 and as the proud holder of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise-International Trade. Allett owner Austin Jarrett is very passionate about the outdoors so this is something very close to his heart. The highest bidder was Ron Henry from the USA receiving this unique Jubilee Allett Stirling 51 (20”) which is powered by the EGO 56V battery system. “Given that it’s a one-off special edition Stirling and so nice to look at, it’s unlikely that I’ll mow grass with it. I’m very happy to be able to play a small part in helping young people reach their goals through the donation to the DofE charity (Ron Henry, USA). The mower will be taken to the BBC Gardeners World Live show at the NEC this week before being shipped out to Ron's home next week.
