Allett attend BBC Gardeners World Live 2022 For the First Time
Allett attended the BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2022 show for the first time this week at the NEC with the show happening alongside the BBC Good Food Show so footfall was high- the show regularly attracts an audience of between 90,000 and 100,000 annually. Taking place from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th June, BBC Gardeners’ World Live is the ultimate day out for keen, hands-on gardeners with many new faces visiting our Allett stand.
The nation’s favourite gardening experts hosted live talks including Monty Don, Frances Tophill, Adam Frost, Joe Swift, Arit Anderson and Alan Titchmarsh with the theatre being right next door to our stand. Visitors had the chance to browse in one of the largest floral marquees in the country to find an incredible variety of plants for sale, direct from the growers. Tickets included entry to the BBC Good Food Show Summer packed with tasty, seasonal treats, live workshops and hundreds of artisan producers.
It was great to meet new faces at the Allett stand with many having stories of how their grandparents had cylinder mowers back in the days which inspired them to buy a cylinder mower. We also met some familiar faces with 2018 Allett Creative Stripes winner Keith Smith visiting the stand. Regular comments of 'That's a proper mower' were heard as visitors walked up to the Allett stand.
The Queen's Jubilee Stirling mower was a great addition to our stand attracting the attention of passers by. The mower bought by Ron Henry (USA) helped raise £4400 for the Duke of Edinburgh's Living Legacy Fund. The show backdrop included a photo of a lawn maintained by Joe, a professional gardener from Walton-on-Thames who used a Stirling to stripe up his customer's lawn.
Lets hope next year we can have a slot in the theatre talking all things lawn-care as there were plenty of flower experts there but not much to learn about lawn-care!
We are happy to announce we have re-booked for 2023!
