Benefits of Cordless Lawn Mowers
Many people who’re in the market for an electric garden lawn mower will probably already know that they come in two different kinds, corded mowers and cordless battery-powered mowers. Battery powered systems have come on leaps and bounds over the past few years and there is now no need to worry about battery power and battery range.
Both kinds have their own benefits and features, but if you’re looking for a more convenient solution to mowing your lawn then you should consider the cordless lawnmower. The Allett Liberty range machines are now our most popular homeowner machines and offer many benefits over their electric and petrol equivalents.
Here are a few benefits of switching to battery power in your garden!
Ease of use.
When it comes to cordless mowers the overall ease of use is amazing. There is no pulling of cords to start the engine; instead a simple push of a button. There are no trips to the fuel station to fill up your petrol can and time wasted spent putting fuel into your machine. There is no engine servicing or the costs associated with this. Engine issues can be the main issues that arise with cylinder mowers- with battery machines these issues are gone! There is no dragging of cables around your lawn or through flower beds- you simply plug your battery in and away you go. There is no changing the oil in the engine with a battery machine and far less servicing tasks.
Lightweight
Battery powered mowers are much lighter than petrol powered products making it easier to manoeuvre them around the garden and lift the mower up steps or into the car. For example a 17'' Kensington is approximately 53.5kg compared with just 38.5kg for the Liberty 43 battery mower.
Environment
By choosing battery powered mowing we are transferring the environmental concern onto the government- we can all do our bit. We are not emitting petrol fumes into the environment each time we mow and if more people are using battery powered mowers it lessens the demand for fuel ultimately.
Low Noise Pollution.
Compared to other mowers, battery-powered mowers are built to operate with reduced noise pollution. This also gives you the opportunity and flexibility to mow the lawn at any time of the day without disturbing neighbours. We have customers that work nights and come home from work early in the morning and are able to get a mow in in unsociable hours. It's also of course great for the operators too!
Health reasons for the operator
Engines emit particles (PM 2.5) we can't see with the naked eye that can be harmful to the operator when breathing in over a long period of time. With battery machines there are no fumes!
More Freedom.
Battery-powered mowers often allow for fast and convenient operation, because you don't have to think about how long the cord is or find the perfect place where you can plug in and connect to the electricity. This helps you to swiftly mow your lawn, without any constraints.
Use the batteries into other garden products
We can take our 40V battery from our mower and put it into other Greenworks products such as leaf blowers, hedge cutters and chainsaws etc.
Hand arm vibration levels
Vibration white finger can be quite a concern when using some petrol powered machines that vibrate substantially. There are very low levels of hand arm vibrations in battery powered products meaning they can be used for long periods without harm. This may not be a big issue for homeowners who are mowing 2-3 times a week but it can be for lawncare professionals.
Running costs
We have worked it out at just 3-5p a charge a battery compared to 54p of fuel to mow the same area- over time this will save you a considerable amount of money
You will notice we have kept the cost price of the Allett Liberty machines down and they are now cheaper to purchase than their petrol equivalents.
We have three machines available in the HOMEOWNER range; the Allett Liberty 30 (12)the Allett Liberty 35(14'') the Allett Liberty 43(17'')
