Michael Bulzacchelli Completes His Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering

Michael Bulzacchelli our Trainee Design & Development Engineer has recently been awarded his Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering after completing a 2-year course with Performance Through People. Michael has worked at Allett for nearly 6 years now where he started as an Apprentice and has recently spent a day a week at college alongside his job at Allett where he could put everything he learnt into practice. The course involved design, CAD, welding, milling, turning and health and safety aspects. Michael’s course has been affected by the pandemic in the last few years so it makes the achievement that little bit more special. He now plans to complete higher education on his quest to further upskill and establish himself as a key part of the engineering team at Allett.

“Since studying Engineering at high school I knew engineering was the career path which I wanted to choose and what would later attract me to take up the offer of an apprenticeship. I chose to go down the route of an apprenticeship as I could gain experience, training and new skills in a real work environment allowing myself to gain essential experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship, and I am pleased with the progress that I have made along the way, and I am also thankful for the opportunities that I have been given. This apprenticeship was a great course which enabled me to further expand on my personal development seeing improvement both on my skills and knowledge along the way. This helped me to gain confidence and you are not just considered the apprentice, you are given your own role and you can play a key figure within the business not just benefiting yourself, your department but the business as whole. My next step is to hopefully go onto further higher education signing up to a level 6 degree to further expand on my education and fulfil my professional ambitions.” (Michael Bulzacchelli)

''Hiring Michael as an apprentice has definitely helped improve productivity in our engineering team. Michael and his apprenticeship has allowed us to grow talent and nurture specialist skills unique to our business. Michael continues to add value as a full time member of the team and is highly regarded by all members of staff'' (John Gittins, Innovation and Engineering Manager)

Well done Michael! We are all super proud of you!
