Each year Allett run two Allett Lawn Academies alongside Richard Salmon of ProLawncare UK
We are hosting our next event at ???? in October 2025. This will be our 6th Level 1 Allett Lawn Academy. This is a great day where lawn enthusiasts can spend the day with other like minded people and share their lawn journeys.
What Can I Expect On Level 1?
The Level 1 course is designed for everyone, from lawn enthusiasts to professional lawn care specialists wanting to improve their lawn care knowledge and skills. You'll learn the science behind lawn renovation ensuring your lawn is in top shape for the spring and summer months.
- Beginners starting their lawn care journey
- Homeowners looking to renovate their lawn this Spring and improve their basic knowledge on lawncare practices.
- Professional gardeners looking to enhance their knowledge.
- Turf suppliers eager to educate their staff so they can educate their customers
- Local volunteers at sports clubs aiming to improve their knowledge on grass

The history of lawns and life cycle of grass
Grass varieties in lawns
Lawn maintenance programmes
Thatch reduction & control / Weed & moss control
Soil types and soil analysis
Grass plants nutrients and fertilising your lawn for best effect
Irrigation and soil moisture
Monthly lawn tasks for a strong and healthy lawn
Hands on mowing with a range of Allett Cylinder Mowers

Richard Salmon with assistance from Andy Trainell who has many years of greenkeeping and lawncare experience. A number of Allett staff will be present on the day.

Soil types/structure/pH and creating the right environment for your lawn- Soil compaction and drainage (theory)

Nutrition and Fertilisers, weed and moss control (theory)

Break – teas and coffees

Outside session – Ryes with Mitch (Backlapping & cylinder setup), Fescues with Richard (Grass/weeds ID). Groups swap to cover both in the morning

Lawn Renovation Theory - aeration, scarification, seeding, top dressing. ALLETT cartridge presentation

Mowing with the Alletts followed by The Allett Cartridge system/Large lawn tools Renovation Practical Class – use two lawns. Show how you would do it both ways
