How To Repair Dog Urine Patches On Your Lawn

If you're dealing with dog urine patches on your lawn, here are FIVE WAYS you can repair the damage:

  1. Water the area: Immediately after your dog urinates on the lawn, try to water the area thoroughly. This will help to dilute the urine and prevent it from burning the grass.

  2. Rake and remove dead grass: Once the urine has dried, use a rake to remove any dead grass or debris from the affected area. This will help to create a clean slate for new grass to grow.

  3. Apply grass seed: Apply a generous amount of grass seed to the affected area. Cover the seed with a layer of topsoil, sand or compost to help it take root.

  4. Use a lawn patch product: If you prefer, you can use a lawn patch product specifically designed to repair dog urine damage. These products typically contain a mix of grass seed, fertiliser, and mulch to help the new grass grow quickly. There are also products that you can buy that are environmentally friendly and are basically green paint in a spray bottle to cover up the patch.

  5. Train your dog: Finally, consider training your dog to go in a designated area of the lawn, such as a designated patch of grass or a spot lined with gravel. This can help to prevent further damage to your lawn in the future.

Remember that it's important to be patient when repairing dog urine patches on your lawn. It may take several weeks for new grass to grow and fill in the damaged area. In the meantime, try to keep your dog away from the affected area to give it the best chance to recover.
